Where Image Abides

prelims and book graphics
fell in love all over again
while working with the grayscale conversions

As a graphic artist, have certainly worked B/W plenty, but converting an entire collection of color digital artwork to grayscale was a first. And at first, was a bit of a shock. The eye & mind focuses on form and contrast for an entirely novel view. The process was truly one of discovery ...  'this' is Where Image Abides. Perfect.

With a new theme in mind for the overall book, the graphic concept fell into place; the striking lines of the train trestle's vertical strength and deep perspective along with contrasts of black hard steel and soft white snow flurries ... a solid transport to mystical realms ... what dreams are made of.

May We Dream

by Mary Elizabeth Kibler

May we dream the fit refinery of fire and spirit

Standing adequate in suggestion

To convey the loves

Apparent at every turn

Be they cadences of

Creation’s coffins laid open

Or slammed of pure modernity

Shaping mysteries of these beasts

Bellowing below the ocean tides

To metal struck molded of eccentricities

Inspiring impression where image abides

Desiring sanctity enveloped by charms

Remembering to whom belongs the

Name of mind

Knowing

How

Immersion

In private devotions

Tempers our slumber

For the keenest of notions.
